Charles A. Carrell
Charles A. Carrell, 78, of Mosby, MO, passed away, Monday, June 15, 2009 at Liberty Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Charles was born January 25, 1931 in Grandview, MO to Charles Floyd and Alta (Stout) Carrell. He worked as a general contractor and had owned and operated Carrell-Way Roofing for over 40 years before he retired in 2002. In his spare time he enjoyed watching and feeding humming birds. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Ireta Shoemaker, she passed away in 1988. Survivors include: a son, Tommy Ledford (Janice) of Mosby, MO; 3 daughters, Margett Solomon of Kansas City, MO, Tammy Ledford (Sherry Adee) of Ottawa, KS and Christy Carrell of Cole Camp, MO; 2 brothers, Gary Carrell and Gaylord Carrell both of Belton, MO; a sister, Delores Solomon of Texas; 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberley Ledford in 2003 and a sister, Beverly Franklin in 1994.
