Maurice B. Carroll, 79, Liberty, MO, formerly of Independence and Kansas City, MO, passed away Feb. 19, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 am, Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 N. Liberty, Independence, MO, with visitation beginning one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
Maurice was born Dec. 6, 1931 in Kansas City, MO to Thomas A. and Ellie T. Carroll. He attended Holy Cross Grade School and Cardinal Glennon High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. Maurice was proud of his Irish Heritage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Carroll, Rev. Patrick C. Carroll OMI and Thomas V. Carroll. He is survived by four sons: Michael, Paul, John and Frank Carroll; sister Mary F. Dessent; brother Joseph A. Carroll; three grandchildren and twenty-one nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of doctors, nurses and volunteers at Liberty Hospital for the care and compassion given to Maurice.
