Sue Ann Carroll, 69 of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, October 17, 2010 surrounded by her family at her residence following a long battle with cancer. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel with cremation to follow. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. Sue was born March 12, 1941 in St. Louis, MO to Ralph Jason and Esther (Bowman) Hartz. She moved to the Kansas City area at a young age and had attended Northeast High School. She had worked as a Lead person on the line at Milbank Manufacturing for over 32 years before she retired. She enjoyed decorating her house, yard work and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was married to Lewis Eldon Parks and later divorced. She then married Ernest Carroll and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2008. Survivors include; 2 daughters from her first marriage, Rhonda L. Kuether and her husband Robert of Kansas City, MO and Pamela L. Colvin of Independence, MO; a son, Eric D. Carroll and wife Susan Svaboda of Kansas City, MO; 7 grandchildren, Sarah E. Kuether and husband Waylon Wilkins, Jeffrey J. Colvin, Jason R. Kuether, Erica R. Carroll, Eric D. Carroll, Jr., Ian G. Yocum and Von M. Yocum; 2 sisters, Jean Miller of Carthage, MO and Evelyn Waggoner and husband Gary of Odessa, MO; 6 great grandchildren, Caylen N. Wilkins, Camryn A. Wilkins, Kysen Z. Wilkins, Xzavier A. Kuether, Lillian M. Carroll and Memphis D. Carroll and her best friend, Miriam Hedrick of Warsaw, MO.
