Terry Cartmill

Terry L. Cartmill, 58, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at his home. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Heart of God Fellowship in Buckner, MO. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Buckner, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. Donations may be made to the Robert “Jesse” Nichols Education Fund c/o First National Bank of Buckner 100 S. Hudson, Buckner, MO 64016. Terry was born September 1, 1949 in Sioux City, IA to James E. and Thelma (Ferdig) Cartmill. He grew up in the area graduating from Fort Osage High School in 1967. He worked for over 31 years in the maintenance department for the Mid-Continent Library retiring in 2005. Survivors include; his mother, Thelma Cartmill of Independence, MO; a daughter, Tara Nichols and her husband Rob of Buckner, MO; a sister-in-law, Janice Cartmill of Buckner, MO; a companion, Jodie Estes of the home; and the light of his life, his grandson, Jesse Nichols of Buckner, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife Vicky Cartmill in 2006, his father, James E. Cartmill in 2002 and a brother, Gary Cartmill.
