Dale Purviance Casey, 90 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away, Monday, December 27, 2010 at John Knox Village. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial with full military honors will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Dale was born October 29, 1920 in Joseph, OR to James and Nancy (Purviance) Casey. He has lived in the Independence area since 1950. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Dale worked for over 43 years as a diesel mechanic for Vance Brothers before he retired in 1995. He enjoyed sports and was an avid KC Chiefs and Royals fan. Dale married Mary Ruth (Singleton) on January 21, 1946 and enjoyed 44 years of marriage until her death in 1990. Survivors include; his children, Mary Nancy Howerton of KC, MO, Patrick Dale Casey (Dorothy) of Independence, MO, Rose Marie Barger (Jerry) of Shawnee, KS, Cynthia Sue White (Jaudon) of Fayetteville, NC, Norma Joy Froning (Gary) of KC, MO, Michael Jay Casey (Donna) Kearney, MO, Gary James Casey (Mary Ann) of Independence, MO, Daniel Abe Casey (Fran) of Lee’s Summit, MO and Shawn Oren Casey (Diana) of Independence, MO; a sister, Nancy Brown of Chillicothe, MO; a daughter-in-law, Carol Casey of Kingsville, MO; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis O Casey in 2007 and 5 brothers and sisters.
