Joan Cash

Joan Y. Cash, 92, of Independence, MO died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Groves where she had lived for 17 years, the last 8 years in the Rosewood Alzheimer’s Unit. Joan was born in 1919 to Herbert and Jessie (Whiting) York in Summerville, MA. She was a life-long member of Community of Christ. She and her husband, Harold Cash, Jr. were full-time appointees for the church serving the Eastern Seaboard, Independence, Omaha-Council Bluffs, Des Moines and back to the East coast. They retired to Independence. Joan was the mother of four daughters, Cindy Frerking of Blue Springs, MO, Cheryl Yost of Lincoln, CA, Debbie Coulthard of Janesville, WI and Darlene Pierce of Aurora, CO; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren are grateful for the positive influence of her life and her faith in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the Groves Community Room. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Outreach International or Crossroads Hospice.
