Betty Jean Cathcart

Betty Jean (Reeves) Cathcart, 78, of Independence, MO, passed away Monday, July 11, 2005 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 15th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 7-9:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave, Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60611. Betty was born January 18, 1927 in Bates County, MO to Walter Eugene and Minnie M. (Ince) Reeves. She was a homemaker and focused her life in the care of her husband and three daughters. Betty Jean loved to cook and surprise her family with special pies, cakes and cookies when they returned home from their daily activities. She also loved to shop at various malls and go to garage sales. Mrs. Cathcart is survived by her husband of 57 years Wilbur of the home; daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Daniel Slayton of Lexington, MO, daughter Vicki Cathcart of the home, daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and John Killoy of Lee�s Summit, MO; grandchildren Rebecca, Deborah, Angeline and William; great-grandchildren Mark, Anthony, Kirk Jr., Rohny, Samantha, Maverick, Hunter, Gage, Haley and Caleb; and her dog, Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her brothers Dennis V., Robert and Kenneth W. Reeves.
