Catherine "Cathy" Ann Holmes

Catherine “Cathy” Ann Holmes, age 81 years, of Independence, MO passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025. She now joins her mother and step-father, Charlene and Allen Martin, and step-son, Todd Brian Holmes, in eternal rest.

Born and raised in Independence, MO, Cathy was a graduate of William Chrisman High School. She was working at Brunson Instrument Company (Kansas City), where she met her husband, Mike, and they married on February 25, 1989, in San Pedro, CA. After leaving Brunson, she worked for several years at Cerner Corp. before joining Mike in starting their own business, IMTEC Group, Ltd. In 1992. In 1996, she became President of the company, where she served until she and Mike retired in 2023. She was a dog lover and she and Mike showed their Shih Tzus all over the country for nearly 10 years. One highlight was winning “Best Female in Show” at the Westminster Dog Show in New York. Prior to that, they showed Arabian horses for a number of years. After retirement, she enjoyed dining out weekly with friends and caring for the retired dogs. She will be greatly missed by friends, pets, and Mike.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Mike Holmes; and four step-children, Troy Holmes (Kansas City, MO), Anthony Holmes (Columbia, MO), Brigitte Spinski (Blue Springs, MO), and Michelle Kia (Overland Park, KS).

A memorial visitation will take place from 10:30 to Noon on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 918020 E 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055). Contributions in Cathy’s honor can be made to the American Kennel Club.
