Salvador was born November 9, 1922 in Purepero, Mexico to Eutimio and Ester (Verdusco) Cerda. Due to the loss of his father at a young age, he left school to start work in a bakery to support his family. As a young adult he pursued boxing and won numerous titles. After moving to the states, he married his beloved Lois Eileen (Denham) in April of 1949 in Oklahoma. He worked for the railroad, then a foundry, then back to the Kansas City Terminal in Maintenance of Way until his retirement in the early 1980’s. He returned to baking in his retirement, teaching his children and others the craft of baking. He was musically oriented and enjoyed singing at any moment. Salvador was a faithful Christian who evangelized to numerous people and enjoyed engaging others in theological discussion and debate. He and his wife were ordained missionaries. His family remembers him as loving, giving, gregarious person who never met a stranger. Often times Salvador provided for others who had gone without. He often opened his home to many others. He is loved and will be missed.
