Charles Edward "Ed" Bartlett passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 78. He was born on October 13, 1944, in Kansas City, MO.

Ed had a fulfilling career as a small engine distributor for many years. He dedicated himself to his work, always striving for excellence and providing top-notch service to his clients. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ed served in the United States Army. 

Outside of work and military service, Ed had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, creating everlasting memories with them. Ed also had a passion for sports, particularly the KC Chiefs and Nascar. He loved watching thrilling races and cheering for his favorite teams.

Music was a significant part of Ed's life, especially playing the guitar and listening to country music. He found solace and inspiration in the melodies that filled his home. Additionally, Ed treasured his church family at The Church at Three Trails in Independence.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elfriede.

He is survived by his sisters Teresa Bartlett Wright and Phyllis Bartlett. Ed also leaves behind stepchildren Robert Murray, Teresa Murray, Michelle Hamilton, as well as step-grandchildren Thomas Hamilton, Timothy Hamilton, and Christina Johnson. Their lives have been enriched by Ed's presence and they will carry him in their hearts.

To honor Ed's life and achievements, a memorial service will be held on Friday, July 14th, 2023, at Speaks Suburban Chapel located at 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055. The service will begin at 2:00 PM.
