It is with heavy hearts that the family of Charles "Charlie" Ford announces his passing after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson's Disease. Charlie passed peacefully on February 3, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 25, 1947 to Charles "Bud" and Lula "Lu" Ford of Sedalia, Missouri. Charlie was the loving husband of Kathy for 46 years. Together, they had two beautiful daughters, Danelle and Tracie. Charlie was the proud "Papa" to Grace, Brock, Grant, Harper, and Brady. Charlie graduated from Waynesville High School in 1965. He proudly served in the Vietnam War from 1967-69. During his service, he was exposed to Agent Orange which is believed to have caused Parkinson's Disease many years later. He attended Northeast Missouri State University from 1975-77 where he earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. After graduating, he began his career in the communications industry working at Missouri Public Service Company and Southwestern Bell Company for a total of 33 years. He retired in 2005. Charlie and Kathy spent retirement on their property outside of Lincoln, MO for 10 years, which was the happiest of times. Charlie was an avid hunter, fisherman, and played a mean bass guitar for multiple bands since 1963. But, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Charlie is survived by his wife, Kathy of Lee's Summit, MO; his daughter Danelle and her husband Michael also of Lee's Summit, MO; and his daughter Tracie and her husband Chris of St. Charles, MO. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Grace & Brady of St. Charles, MO and Brock, Grant, & Harper of Lee's Summit, MO. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. All are welcome to come to remember the wonderful life of Charlie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
