Charles Edward Lee Guffey, of Odessa, Missouri, age 82, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. Charles was born on August 28, 1943, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Elbert and Addie (Staggs) Guffey.
Charles worked hard at raising cattle, caring for his chickens and tending to his farm duties most of his life. He was a jack of all trades and could fix or grow pretty much anything. He took great pride in maintaining his vegetable garden and had the green thumb to produce the most delicious tomatoes. When time allowed Charles found peace in fishing and hunting on his property as well as spending time with his family. In his younger years Charles and his beloved wife, Pansy created beautiful memories with their children by traveling and going on adventures. Charles was a kind, yet bold man and will be missed beyond measure.
Charles leaves behind his wife, Pansy (Gale) Guffey; daughter, Tammy Stansfield (Al); sons, Travis Guffey (Christine) and Duane Guffey (Diana); grandchildren, Shawn Estill (Rhiannon), Casey Walker, Brian Guffey, Michael Guffey (Savannah), Chris Guffey, Corben Guffey (Paula) and Curtis Guffey (Selena); and great-grandchildren, Robert, Katrina, Evelen and Scarlet.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Tuesday, July 28th from 5-7pm at the Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri.
