Charlotte Thorp

Charlotte Thorp, 84, of Independence, MO passed away on Thursday, May 09, 2024. She was born on April 05, 1940, in San Diego, CA to Harry and Jewel (Faust) Voss. Charlotte was a spitfire and was often very honest, in the most loving of ways, with those she loved. She was a passionate Chiefs and Royals fan, even getting to see the Royals secure one more win the night before she passed. Charlotte loved her flowers. She would often be found tending to her flowers and plants in her garden and inside of her home. Charlotte loved nothing more than her family, they held such a special place in her heart.

Charlotte is survived by her son Gerald Thorp Jr, grandchildren Gerald Thorp III (Heather), Chance Thorp, Tyler Thorp, and Ryan Thorp, great grandchildren Meyah Thorp,  Mylie Thorp, Gerald Thorp IV and Charlotte Monroe Thorp, brother Anthony Voss (Kay), nieces DeAnn Pierce (Christopher) and Desiree Swing (Jay), nephew Donny Camillo (Allison), as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Jewel Voss, husband Gerald Thorp Sr, son Brent Thorp, sister Harrit Camillo, brother Sonny Voss, and niece Denise Wencl.

A visitation will be held for Charlotte on Monday May 13, 2024, from 9:30am-10:30am at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th St S. Independence, MO) with burial at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, IA.
