Chauncey F. Cambers II, known affectionately by all as Cam, passed away peacefully on November 23rd, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on December 2, 1952, in Independence Missouri, Cam was the beloved son of the late Chauncey F. Cambers and Jean Cambers.

Cam grew up in Independence Missouri and was a proud graduate of Truman High School in 1971. Following high school, Cam enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 1972. He honorably served his country as a Hull Maintenance Technician Fireman (MRFN) and was honorably discharged in August of 1975.

After his time serving in the Navy, Cam returned home and worked as a Flour Packer at General Mills, a dedicated career he held for over 20 years.

Cam was a deeply devoted man of God. He found great comfort and guidance in reading the Bible and often expressed his commitment to living his life by the Ten Commandments. His faith was the cornerstone of his character.

In his younger years, he enjoyed both hunting and fishing. Later in life, he continued to spend time outdoors at the family lake house. Whether he was casting a line or just enjoying the peace of the waterfront, the outdoors was his favorite retreat.

He was also a beloved uncle who delighted his nieces and nephews with elaborate stories, especially the tales from his time in the Navy when he claimed pirates came onto his ship. His creative, vivid storytelling made every family gathering unforgettable.

Cam will be remembered by all who knew him for his infectious sense of humor and his warm, generous spirit.

Cam is survived by his beloved brother, Randy Cambers. His legacy lives on through his niece and nephews: Kress Cambers (Becky), Kurt Cambers (Holly), and Kayla Barrows (Chris), as well as ten cherished great-nieces and great-nephews: Gavin, Elaina, Grayson, Cole, Clay, Crew, Linden, Lanie, Avery, and Brock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey and Jean Cambers, and sister in-law Janice Cambers.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. A funeral service with military honors will follow at 10:00 AM on December 2, 2025, at Carson-Speaks Chapel.
