Larry Chesnut

Larry W. Chesnut, 62 of Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Centerpoint Medical Center. The family will greet friends at the visitation from 2-4:00pm, Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055, and services will be 10:00am, Monday, December 29, 2014 at the chapel. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. Larry was born on January 14, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Floyd O. and Alberta D. (Botham) Chesnut and has been a lifelong area resident, graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1970. Larry was a builder and partner of Westwood Homes LLC. He had also worked for GM and TWA. Larry was an avid car enthusiast, and over the years has owned several classic cars and enjoyed participating in car shows and cruises. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Larry was an all-around good guy, with an infectious personality, who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Survivors include 3 sisters, Sally Sugg and Terry Chesnut both of Independence, MO and Susan Ingram (Roger) of Buckner, MO; 2 stepchildren, Matt Gnazzo of Independence, MO and Amy Coney of Lee’s Summit, MO; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Coney, Robert Wharton and Malia Marek; 2 nieces, Georgia Resch and Kendra Ingram, a nephew David Chesnut and 5 great nieces and nephews.
