Earl E. Chinn, age 82 of Grain Valley, MO, entered Heaven's gates to spend eternity with his Lord on January 18, 2010.
Earl was born March 19, 1927 to Arthur and Mary Gwendolyn (Brewer) Chinn in Kansas City, MO. He attended Manual High School. He began his printing career when he was 17 years old, working for Jack Connell Typesetting, then moving to Stanley Type, and finally retiring from the Kansas City Star, after 25 years of service. His hobbies have always been trains, whether watching full sized locomotives or HO gauge toy trains. He designed intricate layouts, including scenery, towns, and all that train enthusiasts strive for.
His survivors include his wife of 46 years, Margaret (Margie) Jackson Chinn, daughter Laurie Lentz and husband Chad of Maricopa, AZ, and their sons Joshua and Matthew; daughter Lisa Gard and husband Dennis of Grain Valley, MO, and their sons Nathaniel, Gabriel, Blake, and Rafe; sister Maxine Payton of Independence, MO; sister Mildred Hall and husband Bob of Waco, Texas, sister-in-law Mary Chinn, Clermont, Florida, sister-in-law Berniece Chinn, Gresham, Oregon. His parents and brothers, Claude Chinn of Clermont, Florida, Mansford Chinn of Gresham, Oregon and Dean Payton of Independence, MO preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. on January 20, 2010 with the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Maywood Baptist Church, 10505 E. Winner Rd. Independence, MO.
