Carol Lee Olson Christ, 81, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at North Kansas City Hospital. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel followed by cremation. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday September 5, 2007 at the Farview Restoration Branch Church. Donations may be made to the Farview Restoration Branch Church. Carol was born October 3, 1925 in Winnebago, NE to Gustave A. and Myrtle V. (Trede) Olson. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943 and Graceland College in Lamoni, IA in 1945 with a Associate Arts degree in Home Economics. She was married to M.H. Christ on January 1, 1947 until 1972. Carol had worked as a personal secretary for the Standard Reliance Insurance Co in Lincoln, NE, Lincoln Orthopedic Center, Woodmen Accidental and Life Insurance Co. all in Nebraska and after moving to Independence in 1974, she worked for Shelter Insurance Company before she retired in 1990. She enjoyed knitting and gardening and after retirement she did typing and editing for others, including patriarchal blessings, and manuscripts for several books, all on a volunteer basis. This she called her “Gods Work.” She also did volunteer work at the School of Saints and the Conference of Restoration Elders office. She was a member of the Professional Secretaries International, attaining Certified Professional Secretary designation in 1980, the Home Economics Club and the LMS social club. She is survived by 4 sons, Greg Christ and his wife Carri of Lincoln, NE, Doug Christ and fiancé Diane of Gretna NE, Ken Christ and wife Nikki of Irmo, SC and Stan Christ of Dana Point, CA; a brother, Ron Olson and his wife Evelyn of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Mandy, Angela, Monica, Kelley, Emily, Mary, Rachel and Nicole and 2 great grandchildren, Kelsey and Kaitlyn.
