Garrett Addison Clark, 18, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 at Eastside Baptist Church, 19901 E. 78 Hwy, Independence, MO 64057. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Garrett Clark Memorial Debate Scholarship Fund in c/o Blue Springs Education Fund. Garrett was born July 10, 1989, in Independence, MO to Robert E. and Julie A. (Scott) Clark. He was currently a Senior at Blue Springs High School. Garrett participated in tennis over the last four years and was currently the #1 Varsity player. He excelled in debate for four years and was the President of the National Forensics League. As a junior, Garrett qualified for national competition in Domestic Extemporaneous. He won the District Tournament last week in Policy Debate which qualified him for national competition in Las Vegas this June. Garrett worked as a waiter at Red Robin where he was known for his charismatic personality. His plans were to debate for UMKC next fall on a full scholarship and major in Political Science. Garrett is survived by his parents Bob and Julie Clark; sister Madison Clark; grandmother JoAnn Scott; grandfather James Clark; he is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Gala Clark; grandfather Wallace Scott.
