Wiliam Clark

February 15, 1917 — July 16, 2009

William H. Clark, 92 Warrensburg, MO formerly of Independence; passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 20, 2009 at Carson Speaks Funeral Home; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mount Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 am Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home, 1300 Veterans Rd. Warrensburg, MO 64093.

William was born February 15, 1917 in Fairmont Township of Jackson, County the son of William S. and Norma Lee (Carter) Clark. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. William was retired from Lee’s Summit Schools after 27 years as a High School Mathematics Teacher and was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raytown and held the title of Deacon Emeritus, and a member of the American Legion. William enjoyed gardening, woodworking and especially loved following the current news events and weather forecasts of where his grandchildren were stationed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Estalene Clark of 57 years and two sisters.

Survivors include his son, Bill Clark and his wife of Kansas City; grandchildren, Capt: William H. Clark of Ramstein AFB, Germany; Capt: Robert M. Clark of Soto Cano Airbase, Honduras; and SrA: Elizabeth M. Clark of Kunsan AFB, South Korea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
