Pearl E. Clasby, 85 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at her residence. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice. Pearl was born January 23, 1925 in Buckner, MO to William T. and Susie V. (Allison) Newell/Helms and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who enjoyed collecting dolls and making miniatures. She had attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the Independence Doll Club. She had also worked for Knoepker’s Clothing in Independence. She was married to Lawrence K. Clasby on February 23, 1943; he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 daughters, Donna S. Newton and husband Glen of Sugar Creek, MO and Linda A. Malicoat and husband Paul of Independence, MO; 2 sons, Robert K. Clasby and wife Barbara and John M. Clasby all of Independence, MO; 2 sisters in law, Emily Clasby of Bolivar, MO and Jackie Newell of Pittsburg, MO; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and an aunt, Margaret Winfrey of Independence, MO.
