Harry Eugene Clay, 68, Independence, MO, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 at Lowery City Cemetery, Lowery City, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Mon at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas City Hospice House. Harry was born March 11, 1942 in Clinton, MO the son of John Thomas and Laura Lillian (Bunch) Clay. He was a 1960 graduate of Lowery City High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Dickinson State University. Harry was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a machinist for numerous local machine shops and was a member of the Local #101 Engineers a member of the Lowery City Masonic Lodge #403. Harry enjoyed raising and training bird dogs, hunting and spending time at his lake house.
He was preceded in death by his parents; half brother, Robert Hunter and step father, Dale Fewell.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda Clay; sons, John Robert Clay; Darin Eugene Clay and his wife Christine; granddaughter, Jordis Nicole Clay; half sister, Luwana Montgomery; brother, John Thomas “Bud” Clay and a loving nephew, Mark Hunter.
