Irene E. Cline, 91, of Lenexa, KS, passed away, Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Lakeview Village Care Center in Lenexa, KS. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 21, 2010 at the St. Michael’s Episcopal Church 4000 S. Lee’s Summit Road Independence, MO, 64055. Burial will follow in Sni Mills Cemetery in Oak Grove, MO. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m., until service time Monday at the church. Donations may be made in her name to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Irene was born July 15, 1918 in Eagle Bend, MN to August and Emma (Hanson) Berggren. She spent her early life in Minnesota and graduated from public schools there before moving to Missouri in 1946. She had worked as a cashier/clerk for Independence School Dist. and later for the Independence Teacher’s Credit Union. Irene was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and was an avid KC Royals fan. She was a charter member of the St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. She was married to Kenneth Cline on March 3, 1945; he passed away on September 5, 1980. Survivors include; 3 daughters, Kathryn Jernigan of Panama City, FL, Kristy Weddle and her husband Daniel of Mount Ayr, IA and Karen Thomas and her husband Phillip of Overland Park, KS; 6 grandchildren, Kelly Brannon and her husband Josh, David Jernigan, Cindy Jernigan, Janice Weddle, Katie Wilkey and her husband Jason and Becca Thomas and 2 great grandchildren, Kaly and Emma Brannon.
