Harold Coe, 86, of Independence, MO, passed Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at the Speaks Midtown Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel. Harold was born March 28, 1917 in Chariton, IA to Raymond Case & Elizabeth Rachel (Aldridge) Coe and has lived in Independence since 1945. He worked as an Inspector for the Steel Workers Union for a number of years for Black Syvils & Bryson and later worked for Kenworth until his retirement in 1979. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the D.A.V. where he served as Commander in 1955. He was married to Dora Louise Hull on June 12, 1937, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Jerry Coe of Parkville, MO and Larry Coe of Independence, MO; a brother, Floyd Coe of Des Moines, IA; a sister, Dorothy Sellers of Chariton, IA; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
