Robert Graham Coldwell, 56, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, August 11, 2006. Bob was born February 21, 1950 in Independence, KS to Robert E. and Mary R. (Gilmer) Coldwell, and was a resident of Independence, MO for the past 32 years. He was baptized in the First Christian Church in Kansas and was in the Boy Scouts where he earned his Eagle, God and Country award, was a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and attended the 1964 BSA National Jamboree in Valley Forge, PA. Bob was a Kansas State Senate Page and attended Boy�s State of Kansas. Graduating from Independence, KS High School, he attended Independence (KS) Community College and received his BFA in Graphic Design from Kansas University where he was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. Bob was a career advertising graphic designer and a Senior Art Director with several Kansas City area advertising agencies. He thoroughly enjoyed creative advertising for all he was able to accomplish and experience and especially for the many friends and associates he made and worked alongside throughout his career. Bob loved the travel associated with his career and the special trips with his family and friends, golf, landscaping in the yard and volunteering in helping others. He was a past Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 257 Beacon Heights Community of Christ, Independence, MO, an "Honorary� member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and highly valued his experience as an adult scout leader. Bob had Christ in his heart, lived life as a practicing Christian and devoutly followed the golden rule. He was a faithful and loving companion to his wife, a devoted father to his children and their many activities and loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Janet Ruth (Foster) Coldwell of 30 years, his father Robert E. and brother Thomas I. Coldwell. He is survived by his twin sons Ben and Bryan Coldwell of Blue Springs, MO; mother Mary Coldwell of Independence, MO; sister Delia Smart of Olathe, KS, brothers Bill Coldwell of Orem, UT, David Coldwell of Wichita, KS and their spouses, brother Jim Coldwell of Independence, MO, mother-in-law Lois Foster of Independence, MO and brother-in-law Larry Foster of Raymore, MO; along with many nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel. Private family burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Janet R. Coldwell Memorial Educational Fund, c/o The School District of Independence Foundation, Inc., 218 N. Pleasant St. Independence, MO 64050 or the Boy Scouts of America.
