Dorothy J. Cole

Dorothy J. Cole, 80, Independence, MO passed away Jan. 13, 2007. Services will be 10 am, Sat., Jan. 20, 2007 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Special Olympics or the American Diabetes Assoc.
Dorothy was born May 23, 1926 in Independence and lived here all of her life. She was a mother and homemaker. She spent many hours volunteering as a member of the Higginsville State School Parent Association and earned a special award as a 1,000-hour volunteer. She was a member of the Maywood Baptist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur E. Cole; son Kenneth Alan Cole; and grandson Darrell Cole. She is survived by sons Daniel L. Cole and wife Sue, Lee�s Summit, MO; Ronald D. Cole and wife Carol, Kansas City, MO; Gerald W. Cole and wife Norma, Blue Springs, MO; sister Loretta Edie, Independence; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
