H. Colston

H. Marcine Colston, 84 of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Independence, MO. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Marcine was born on March 18, 1926 in Glendale, CA to Homer S. and Eva H. (Best) Steffens. She worked as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Second Church congregation of the Community of Christ and was a youth leader. She enjoyed volunteer work and volunteered many hours at the Community of Christ Temple. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and was a cake decorator. She was a member of the TOPS where she served as treasurer and the Independence Bowling League. She was married to Boyd L. Colston on June 22, 1948; he preceded her in death on November 10, 1989. She is survived by a son, Terry Colston of Raytown, MO and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Williard Steffens and a sister, Lorena Needham.
