Laurene Claire Compton (Jones)

Laurene C. (Jones) Compton, 81, Raytown, MO passed away Sept. 7, 2015. Mass will be 10 am, Sat., Sept. 12 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3637 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 pm, Friday at Speaks Suburban Chapel with the Rosary at 8:30 pm. Laurene was born May 14, 1934. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Compton; daughters Teresa Moore and husband Mike; Becky Pelletier and husband Bernie; Mary Compton; son Mike Compton and wife Amanda; grandchildren Jimmy Ellsworth and wife Becky, Patti Pelletier, Kory Miller and wife Ashley and Laura (Ellsworth) Dittmer and husband Jon; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Emma McFerrin; Rita Obermeyer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Gene, her parents and brothers. She will be loved and missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
