Viola Compton, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Inurnment will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Viola was born April 11, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Harry and Grace (Swigert) Sirginous and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked as a supervisor for Luce Luggage and later worked in the warehouse for St. Regis Paper Company. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and was active in the V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary. Viola is survived by; a son, Fred Poese and his wife Connie of Lee’s Summit, MO; 2 sisters, Teddy Ault of Grain Valley and Marie Burnes of Independence, MO and one grandson, Nicholas Poese of Lee’s Summit, MO.
