Earnest Lee Cook, 84, of Kansas City, MO, passed away, Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital. Services will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2009 in Fairview Cemetery in Cameron, OK. The family will greet friends following the services from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society. Earnest was born August 7, 1925 in Macon, MO to Austin and Haley (Walker) Cook. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a steelworker for Armco Steel for over 30 years before he retired. He enjoyed working around the house, watching Judge Judy and eating coconut cream pies. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was married to Cora Lee Smith; she preceded him in death in 1996. Survivors include; 2 sons, Mark Cook and his wife Charmaine of Kansas City, MO and Carlos Cook and his wife Loretta of Grain Valley, MO; a daughter, Linda Hogrefe and her husband Fred of Cameron, OK; a sister, Betty Pinkerman of Macon, MO; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his wife , parents and a son, Ricky Cook.
