Irene Cooper, 80, of Independence, MO passed away April 20, 2012. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Services at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the chapel, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Irene was born December 5, 1931 in Platte City, MO to John C. Parvin and Lucy M. (Taylor) Parvin. She retired from Sears, where she had worked over 25 years. Irene enjoyed traveling with her husband, shopping, going to the horse races, watching the Royals on T.V., and bird watching. Her biggest passion was her children and grandchildren who she absolutely adored. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Tabitha Jordan; and six siblings. Irene is survived by her loving husband, William L. Cooper; one son, Gregory L. Cooper and wife Janet; two daughters, Pamela S. Jordan and husband William, Penni I. Hershberger; sister, Beverly Bennett; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
