Josephine Cooper

Josephine Marie Cooper, 75, Independence, MO, was greeted in Heaven by her cocker spaniel, “Honey” on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, March 28, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Josephine was born March 27, 1935 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of James A. and Bridget (Dundun) Gavin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading Stephen King novels. Josephine also enjoyed attending the Sermon Community Center. She was preceded in death by five sisters, four brothers and her parents.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Bill “Abe” Cooper; daughter, Nancy Cooper and son, Jeff Cooper; sister, Agnes Gavin; sister in law, Patricia Gavin and numerous nieces, nephews, and family.
