Juanita Cornett

Juanita Pauline Cornett, 65 of Independence, MO passed away, Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Truman Medical Center. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Juanita was born on November 10, 1947 in Ventura, CA to Lloyd and Rena (Cunningham) Wood. She had worked for a the Kansas City School District as a cashier for a number of years before she retired in 2007. She enjoyed fishing, cards and time at the lake. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by; her husband, Wayne Cornett of the home; a daughter, Tina Salmon and her husband Steve of Independence, MO; a son, Lloyd P. Calvin of Independence, MO; a brother, Darrel Wood of Raytown, MO; 3 grandchildren, Tabatha Salmon, Samantha Salmon and Steven Salmon and 2 great grandchildren, Jordan and Jaxson Ferreira.
