Obituary

Cory Dean Lawrence, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away too soon on February 6, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on January 27, 1973, in Independence, Missouri, Cory lived a life filled with joy, love, and a dedication to his family, which he often referred to as his proudest accomplishment.

As a skilled RV technician, Cory took great pride in his work, but it was his passions outside of his career that truly defined him. Known for his adventurous spirit, he loved cars and BMX biking, sharing countless memories with his family. His eclectic taste in music spanned all genres, and weekends often included BBQing for family and friends—a testament to his warmth and hospitality. A lover of movies, Cory had a soft spot for the Kansas City Chiefs, regularly cheering them on with fervor and enthusiasm.

Cory is survived by his devoted wife, Angela Moore; daughter, Kayla Lawrence; stepchildren, Brittany Moore (Kelly), Justin Moore (Ian), Taylon Wilcoxson; granddaughter, Delylah Wilcoxson; nephew, Dustin Lawrence (Heather); father, John (Lusette) Lawrence Sr.; siblings Chris Younts, Kim Younts, and Suylin Hamilton; other family members, Trisha Younts, Deatra Johnson, Ashley Walters, Amber Walters; cousins, James Brownbill, Randy Brownbill, Candy Fields, Tammy Fields, Mark Fields, Johnny Fields; and many more great nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends, along with many more cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Cory was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Klover Lawrence, his mother Georgia Lawrence, and his brother John Lawrence Jr. He also mourned the loss of other dear family members, including Maxine Touhey, Ronnie Hiserote, Wanda Fields, Rolan Dean Lawrence, and Lillian Lawrence.

The memories and the love shared during Cory’s life will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. A visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri, on February 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Cory's spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to be a part of his journey. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by his family and friends, who carry with them the warmth of his laughter and the strength of his love.
