Norma Jean (Crosby) Cottingham Graff, 76, Independence, MO passed away Feb. 12, 2013. Services will be 2 pm, Sat., Feb. 16 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. Committal services will be private at Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Pkwy., Kansas City, MO 64114.
Norma was born July 25, 1936 in Leavenworth, KS and graduated from Lansing High School. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Independence, a member of the Young Matrons and served as a Commissioner on the Jackson County Election Board. She was a huge sports fan of the Chiefs, Royals and KU and enjoyed playing Bridge and Canasta.
Norma was preceded in death by husband James “Sam” Cottingham. She is survived by husband Hugh Graff, of the home; sons Reed Cottingham and wife Phyllis, Orlando, FL; Bruce Cottingham, Kansas City, KS; step-daughters Shirley Graff, Lake Tapawingo, MO; Natalie Graff-Baker and husband Les, Lafayette, CA; step-son Hap Graff and wife Susie, Lake Tapawingo, MO; sister Jane Richards and husband Tom, Independence, MO; grandchildren Samantha Cottingham; Ashley Cottingham, both of Orlando, FL; Kristen Graff-Baker-Bishop and husband Jonathan, Walnut Creek, CA; Sarah Graff, Lake Tapawingo, MO; Amanda Graff-Baker, Portland, OR; Carson Graff and wife Adriane, Lee’s Summit, MO; great-grandchildren Natalia Graff-Baker and Zachary Graff-Baker-Bishop.
