Shirley Coulas

Pat Coulas, 83, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, February 5th 2013. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8th at First Baptist Church; 500 W. Truman Rd, Independence, MO. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Mount Washington Cemetery in Independence.
Pat was born April 21st 1929, in Independence, to Joe and Evelyn (Hilliard) Powell. She married George Coulas September 9th 1950 and together they had two children. Pat enjoyed her work in the Childrens Mercy Hospital gift shop. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church and sang in their choir. Pat enjoyed embroidery and special functions with her family including traveling. She is loved and will be missed.
Pat is survived by husband, George of 62 years; daughter, Debby Smith and husband Phil of Kearney, MO; son, Dennis Coulas and wife Norma of Stilwell, KS; grandchildren, Jennifer Wheeler, Justin Wheeler and wife Katie Jo, Jacob and Jenna Smith, and Austin, Cassie, Krista, and Whitney Coulas; and brother, Joe Powell and wife Marilyn.
