Freda L. Cowen

Freda L. Cowen, 67, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, February 13, 2005 at her home, surrounded by family. Services will be 11 am Thursday, February 17th at Mt. Washington United Methodist Church; with interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 Lexington Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Mt. Washington UMC, or Kansas City Hospice. Freda was born March 18, 1937 in Briensburg, KY to Ollie and Lucille Collie. She was a member of Mt. Washington United Methodist Church for 32 years, and taught Sunday school for many years. Freda was a private seamstress in the area for over 30 years. Freda was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Arthur DeHoff and Alan Ruddell. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Bill Cowen; children, Sabrina Bangert and husband Jason of Lee�s Summit, MO, Lyle Cowen and wife Dianne of Raytown, MO, Matthew Cowen and wife Patricia of Shawnee, KS, Angela Gray and husband Thomas of Pleasant Hill, MO; grandchildren, Austin and Lindsey Bangert, Nathaniel and Eric Cowen; brothers, Ed Collie of Pueblo, CO, Byron Collie of Kevil, KY, and Chester "CB� Ruddell of Jacksonville, AR.
