FLOYD E. COX
Floyd E. Cox, 91, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away April 25, 2011. Services will be at 11 am, Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Oakwood Baptist Church, 7600 Lee’s Summit Rd., K.C, MO 64139; interment with Full Military Honors at Floral Hills East Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Oakwood Baptist Church or Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Pkwy, Ste. 300, K.C., MO 64114.
Floyd was born Feb. 9, 1920 in Elmira, MO. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and received a Purple Heart. He worked at the GM Leeds Plant where he was a foreman until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Floyd was a member of the GM Retirement Association, Disabled American Veterans and the VFW.
Floyd is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Etta Cox, of the home; son David Cox and wife Carolyn; daughter Cheryl Constable and husband Ronald, all of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren Anissa Slavens, Holly Webb, Katie Cox, Amie Rogers, Bev Sollars; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
