Rosemary Benette Crain, 85, of Independence, MO passed away October 2, 2015. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. service on Tuesday, October 6, at First Baptist Church of Raytown. Burial will be held at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Benette was born July 11, 1930 to Vivian and Benjamin Howell in Kansas City Mo. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1948. Benette was a homemaker. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Independence Mo, who served as church organist and met her husband Howard Crain there. They were married 53 yrs. In 1980 Benette & Howard became foster parents and kept 226 babies for over 30 yrs. In 2000, the family joined First Baptist Church of Raytown Mo. where she sang in the choir and participated in the Heart of America Christmas pageant until health issues prevented her from continuing. She was a member of the Independence Pioneers Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as chaplain and historian. Benette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard and son in law Douglas Aldridge. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Remy & husband Kim, Martha Aldridge and husband Brian Eagan, and Gina Crain; four grandchildren, Lorna Hill, Elizabeth Newberry, Jonathan Aldridge and Rebecca Rosemary Crain; and four great grandchildren, James Hill, Reagan Hill, Luci Hill and Mason Newberry.
