Roy H. Cramer, 93 of Independence, MO passed away, Monday, Sept 5, 2011 at Village Care Hospice in Lee’s Summit. Services 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Burial with full military honors will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association. Roy was born June 10, 1918 in Blackwater, MO to John Milton and Ines D. (Stevens) Cramer. He had worked as a machine operator for Vendo Manufacturing for over 30 years before he retired. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and enjoyed going to the casinos. He was a member of the Maywood Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Mt Washington Masonic Lodge and the Harry Truman Post #21 VFW. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He is survived by a daughter, Gloria Dean Smith of Independence, MO; a sister, Margaret Friederich of Independence, MO; 3 grandchildren, Debbie Spartz, Tammy Smith and Sherrie Hodges and 5 great grandchildren, Brandon Roberts, Brooke Spartz, Briese Spartz, Amy Hodges and Lindsy Hodges. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Helen Cramer in 1985, 2nd wife, Mabel Cramer in 1995, a daughter, Carol Wolfe in 1980 and 8 siblings, Riley, Charles, Lorene, Faye, Bill, Ruby, Robert and Harvey.
