Gwendolyn Crimm, 81, Independence, MO died Oct. 3, 2009. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday Oct. 6 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will be at noon Wed., Oct. 7 at Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Gwendolyn Crimm, born Gwendolyn Thomas to Thomas and Ruby Thomas in Puryear, Tennessee on September 20, 1928. She was the second of three daughters. Her oldest sister was Novella and her youngest was Bronwen. She grew up in Tennessee and Niles, Ohio before moving to Independence, Missouri in 1944. She spent her last two years of high school at William Chrisman in Independence where she graduated in 1946. In 1946 she met and married Leonard Crimm. Together they had three children, Linda, Peggy and Steven. She worked at Wards, Sears, Macy’s and Farmers Insurance. She retired from Farmers in the 1990’s. She was a lifelong active member of the RLDS Church. Her survivors include her sister Novella in Florida, Linda and her family in Grain Valley, Missouri, Peggy and her family in Independence, Missouri and her son Steve in Independence, Missouri.
