David Cruz

David Cruz, 72 of Independence, MO passed away, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. David was born May 21, 1939 in Luquillo, Puerto Rico to Anastacio and Asuncion (Rojas) Cruz. He has lived in the Independence area since 1989 and had worked at Bennett Packaging in Lee’s Summit, MO for 22 years until he retired in 2010. He enjoyed carpenter work and playing his guitar. David is survived by; his wife Wanda of the home; 4 daughters, Wanda Y. Cruz, Rosa Cruz, Mildred Cruz and Mixy Cruz; 3 sons, Robert Cruz and wife Angela, David Cruz, Jr. and David L. Cruz and wife Amanda; a brother, Herminio Cruz, 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
