Donald Wayne Crysell

Donald Wayne Crysell, 80, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Independence, Missouri on October 8, 2022. Don began his earthly journey on January 25, 1942 being born to Harry and Jeanette Crysell in Selma, Alabama.
Don’s formative years were spent in Mobile, Alabama. He spent a considerable time in Owassa with his grandparents, Jerry and Cora, who he lovingly and fondly recalled often as he told stories of his childhood. Don was a 1960 graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile. He enlisted in the Air Force Reserves where he served several years. After graduating from Auburn University, he began his career in Safety Management with International Paper in Mobile. He continued working in safety with various companies until he retired at 75 years old. These work adventures afforded Don the opportunity to work all over the United States and Canada and complete trainings abroad.
Don was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Vivian, of 56 years and their loving son, Donnie. Also going on before him were his parents and his sister, Harriet.
Don is survived by his daughter Lorrie (Mark) Look of Independence, Missouri, his granddaughter Lucy (Andrew) Fine of Lawson, Missouri, his niece, Maja (Russ) Fickett of Machias, Maine and his nephew, Joey (Jessica) Greulich, of Picayune, Mississippi. He also leaves many cousins that loved him dearly and recall childhood memories fondly.
A funeral service will be held at the Lone Star Community of Christ Church on October 29th at 10am. Officiating is Brother Richard Dour and interment will be at the Lone Star Cemetery.
