Donald "Duck� Curtis 46, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Six-mile Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Six-mile Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the church. Donations may be made to the Donald Curtis Grandchildren�s Education Fund c/o Commerce Bank 300 N. Osage St. Independence, MO 64050. Donald was born March 11, 1961 in Independence, MO to Frank E. and Rosalean (Horseford) Curtis and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a carpet layer and had also done construction work before becoming disabled. He enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren. He is survived by; his mother, Rosalean Curtis of Independence, MO; the love of his life Ellen Cooper of Odessa, MO and their children, Joanna St. John of Independence, MO Ashley Curtis of Sibley Mo and a son, Frankie Curtis of the home; a sister, Sheila Beckman of Buckner, MO; a brother, Tom Curtis of Lyle, TN; 3 grandchildren and several nieces nephews and a host of friends.
