George Curtis

George M. Curtis, 81, Kansas City, MO died April 18, 2008 at his home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date; cremation. The family requests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice.
George was born July 15, 1926 in Kansas City, MO. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He worked for the Kansas City Southern Railroad for forty years and retired as Chief Engineer in 1988. George loved golf and had played many of our area’s courses over the years. He was a former member of Hillcrest Country Club.
George was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie L. Curtis and a son, Peter Berkley Curtis. He is survived by his wife of fourteen years Shirley Curtis, of the home; daughter Lisa Curtis, Cuba, MO; son Andy Curtis, Shreveport, LA; stepdaughters Marcia Cinq-Mars and husband Robert; Sharon Ann Chumchal and husband Michael, all of Houston, TX; Terry O’Neil, Seattle, WA; Cheryl O’Neil; Joan Knotts and husband Donald; Mary Gosling and husband Edward; stepsons Michael O’Neil; Sean O’Neil, all of Kansas City, MO; and a large extended family.
