Shirley Ann Cutshall (Allen)

March 22, 1940 — July 11, 2015

Shirley Ann (Allen) Cutshall, 75, of Independence, MO peacefully left this earth Saturday, July 11, 2015 while surrounded by her family. Shirley was born March 22, 1940 in Independence, MO the fifth child of Martin and Bertha Pearl (Ingmire) Allen. Shirley spent her life in Independence, MO with her siblings Zelma, Mary, Dorothy, Naomi, Patty, Janet and Jimmy. She married John Cutshall in 1959. During their marriage, Shirley gave birth to Marty Cutshall on May 24, 1963 and Scott Cutshall on September 17, 1967. Shirley raised her boys in Independence while performing the duties of a housewife and later working in the laundry department at The Groves. Shirley enjoyed simple things in life. She was thankful to have her friend Morris Lacy to spend time with while she was still healthy enough to travel and take part in social activities. Shirley enjoyed watching her two grandchildren while they were active in community, church and school functions. Shirley spent the latter years of her life living at Villages of Jackson Creek Nursing Center and was well-known as one of the first residents to reside there. While living at Jackson Creek, Shirley was well taken care of by many staff members. Shirley was especially fond of Audrey from Crossroads Hospice. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Naomi DeHughes. Shirley is survived by five sisters; Zelma Foster, Mary Bridges, Dorothy Trumbull, Patty Wallace all of Independence, MO and Janet Hamilton of Detroit, MI and one brother; Jimmy Allen of Seattle, WA. Her sons; Marty Cutshall of Panama and Scott Cutshall, Zachary and Madeline of Independence, MO. Memorial Service for Shirley will be July 18, 2015 11:00am at Christ United Methodist Church.
