Evelyn L. Daniel, 74, Kansas City, MO passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
A memorial service Celebrating her life will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Kansas City Hospice.
Evelyn was born December 11, 1934 in Independence, MO the daughter of Frank and Alice (Earnest) Forbes. She had been employed with Intercollegiate Press for 20 years, McDonalds Restaurants for 14 years and retired in 2008 from Hy-Vee. Evelyn attended Midtown Baptist Temple. She was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge # 2414 and the Red Hat Society. Evelyn enjoyed spending time at the local parks and being outdoors. She also loved gatherings with family and friends and was known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Grandma-Poodums”.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold T. Daniel, Jr., one brother, two sisters and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters; Wendy Oistad of Raytown; Karen Kanngiesser and her husband Phillip of Raytown; and Frances Casey and her husband Daniel of Lee’s Summit; eight grandchildren, Ryan Oistad, Ashley Stumpenhaus, Jamie Browning, Crystal Huffaker, Kristina Gilpin, Shauna Banks, Chett Daniel and Ginny Gardner; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters; four bothers.
