Daniel Patrick Maloney

Daniel Patrick Maloney, 64 of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at North Kansas City Hospital. Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life gathering from 4-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025 at A Little BBQ Joint, 1101 W. US 24 Hwy., Independence, MO 64050. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial in his name to the American Heart Association. Daniel was born April 20, 1961 in Kansas City, MO to Bernard and Margaret (Fiala) Maloney. He has been a lifelong area resident, graduating from Truman High School in 1979. He worked as a computer programmer for Schick, Tube &Veyor for over 43 years. He enjoyed riding bicycles and walking his dog. He was married to Marsha (Basso) on July 25, 1979, she survives him of the home. Other survivors include; a son, Nick Maloney and grandson, Gavin Maloney both of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Therese Shepherd and husband David of Independence, MO and Jacqueline Greathouse and husband John of Lees Summit; 2 brothers-in-law, Larry Basso and wife Janet of Independence, MO and Mike Basso and wife Jessica of Grain Valley, MO and his best friend since childhood, Kevin Frisbie of Independence, MO.
