Gerald M. “Jerry” Darrah, 82 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at his residence. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be form 1pm until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made in care of the donor’s choice. Jerry was born December 28, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Walter and Ruth (Gray) Darrah and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1951. He had worked as a body and fender man from the age of 16 until he retired in 1999. He was a member of the Lee’s Summit Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Connie Darrah of the home; 3 children, a son, Jerry Darrah, Jr. and wife Linda of Independence, MO, son, Curt Darrah of Kansas City, MO and daughter, Lezlie Banks of Independence, MO; 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Lindsey, Joel and Alexandria and 3 great grandchildren, Zaylie, Ivory and Violet. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Darrah and a sister, Mary Lee DeLong.
