Eva M. Davenport, 83, Independence, MO passed away Nov. 8, 2010. Services will be at 2 pm, Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Pkwy, Ste. 100, K.C., MO 64114.
Eva was born May 7, 1927 in Kansas City, MO and was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Northeast High School. She worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline for thirty-eight years and retired in 1984. Eva loved playing the organ, boating and golf – she once scored a hole-in-one. She was a member of the United States Power Squadron Boating Club and Jack Piercie’s Roland Organ Club.
Eva was preceded in death by sister Mildred Haines and brothers Floyd M. Curry and Orville E. Curry, Jr. She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years Richard Davenport, of the home; son Bill Davenport and wife Donna, Kansas City, MO; sisters Delores Straub, Independence, MO; Donna Hackler, Bozeman, MT; grandsons Mason Davenport; Marty Davenport and wife Michelle, Raymore, MO; Michael Davenport and wife Shelia, Lee’s Summit, MO; granddaughter Trisha Malko, Dallas, TX; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
