David Christopher Alvis

June 1, 1983 — February 11, 2024

David Christopher Alvis, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in his hometown of Independence, Missouri. David was born to Donald and Dorothy Alvis on June 1, 1983.

After graduating from Van Horn High School in 2001, David embarked on a career at Ford Kansas City assembly plant. For 10 years, he worked diligently in the paint department and then in the truck trim department where he earned his position as team lead. His job as the line operator was to oversee every truck and all operations in his department, leaving his mark on countless vehicles that traversed the city streets.

Outside of work, David cherished spending time with his family and loved ones. Some of the fondest memories they shared were during their annual float trips, where they bonded over camping, laughter and adventure. Sunday dinners were also a treasured tradition within the Alvis household.

David grew up with a passion for life and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He was known for his outgoing nature and infectious spirit, always bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Dubbed the "life of the party" or “the party on the paint floor” David often found himself at the center of gatherings, creating unforgettable memories for everyone around him.

David was an avid sports fan who could often be found cheering passionately for his favorite teams alongside friends and family. It didn't matter whether it was professional or amateur sports; David's enthusiasm knew no bounds. His time playing league softball with friends was always a good time.

In addition to sports, David had a deep appreciation for rock music and loved attending concerts whenever he could. The electric energy and sheer euphoria he experienced in those moments were unparalleled; they allowed him to break free from everyday life.

David's presence illuminated every room he entered, his infectious laughter and zest for life leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. His sudden departure has left a void in the lives of many, but the legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty he leaves behind will continue to shine brightly.

David is survived by his children, Jordyn Alvis, Jamisyn Alvis and Dylan Alvis; father, Donald Alvis; beloved girlfriend, Sophia Hernandez and baby due in July; grandchildren, Londyn Darrough, Journi Lynn Churchill and baby Rome David Darrough due in July; brothers, Travis Hagewood (Michelle) and Joshua West; sister, Tisha Do (Chris McCollum) and numerous nieces and nephews.
